Mr. O’Neal began his employment with Stanislaus County in 1969 with the Department of Social Services, working there until 1972. From there he owned several small businesses, worked in the Purchasing Department for Mendocino County, for North Coast Opportunities as the Senior Programs Coordinator and had a brief employment with Merced County. Upon his return to Stanislaus County in 1981, Mr. O’Neal worked in the Social Services Department where he managed several programs and served as the Assistant to the Deputy Director. He spent his final stint in county service as a Manager in the Department of Employment and Training.Mr. O’Neal has served on the Stanislaus County Grand Jury, the Empire Fire Board and is the past president, as well as an active board member, of the Retired Employees of Stanislaus County (RESCO).
Mr. O’Neal was born in Bakersfield, California and grew up in Modesto, California. He attended local schools and received his Associate in Arts from Modesto Junior College and his Bachelor in Arts from California State University Stanislaus. Michael lives in Oakdale with his wife Carolyn, who retired as a manager from Stanislaus County Child & Family Services. They belong to the Modesto Regional Horseless Carriage Club of America and enjoy travel, gardening, spending time with friends, and touring in their Model A.
